The deep reservoir that collected raw grape juice from the large shallow pan above, through a small hole. Farmers would stomp grapes piled in the shallow pan.

The Cave Of The Tree, Or The Tree Cave of Mount Herzl

On the northwestern slope of Mount Herzl, there is this quietly famous cave. It may have been am ancient cistern, judging its walls. Now it is used by people who just want to get lost, or survive the cold rainy winter nights, or do some non-scientific testing of surreptitious substances. According to this state of the cave, an adult has stayed there with children. I have posted some of these images to Google Maps at the same location.

This is the entrance to the hollow. The entrance is narrow thanks to the tree, and only a child or a slim adult can squeeze in while hugging the tree.

respect to anyone who managed to trudge the mattress and furniture whatnot through the rain, the dust, the slippery hillside, and squeeze it into this hideout.

and there is this crevice, too dirty and too tight to explore, going to the unknown.

Biblical artifacts at the Ein Kerem school museum.

Every inch of the land of Israel is full of antiques. These are from the First Temple, the Second Temple, and Byzantine periods. And they are at the humble Ein Kerem Regional School's own mini museum. May 2019.

A hooch stash in a Biblical cistern

It used to be a cistern. Throughout the ages it got destroyed, considering the proximity to the Christian site at Ein Kerem, and now it is a semi-cavern used as a hide for alcoholic drinks and empties.
